This report presents data on Part One offenses and arrests in Kansas for 1993 and 1994, along with data on adult and juvenile arrests and arrestees; trend tables and graphs cover the period 1985-1994.
Abstract
This is the first Kansas Uniform Crime Report since the implementation of the new Kansas Incident Based Reporting System. The offenses addressed in the report are murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault/battery, burglary, theft, and motor vehicle theft. Trend tables are provided for each Part One crime, along with a listing of offenses reported by agency, arrest summary tables, and arrests reported by agency for 1993 and 1994. For 1993 the number of Part One crimes reported was 129,769, a decrease of 2.6 percent from the previous year. In 1993 there were 12,113 violent crimes reported and 117,656 property crimes reported. In 1994 there were 136,838 Part One offenses recorded by the police, an increase of 5.5 percent over 1993. Violent crimes decreased, however, to 11,314, while property crimes increased to 125,524. Over the period 1985 through 1994, total Part One offenses increased from 106,911 to 136,838. Violent crimes increased from 8,689 to 11,314, and property crimes increased from 98,222 to 125,524.
