This kit includes a videotape and a training leader's manual designed to train employees in how to define sexual harassment and offensive behaviors that can be considered harassment, recognize the types of harassment likely to occur in the workplace, recognize harassment's negative effects, and prevent harassment to improve morale and productivity.
Abstract
The videotape presents and discusses a series of 13 brief dramatizations of sexual harassment scenes. The scenes depict innuendo, joking, inappropriate comments, anonymous notes left in an employee's workplace mailbox, inappropriate touching, the posting of sexually oriented pictures, harassing telephone interactions, repeated requests for dates, and other situations. The discussion explains the difference between quid pro quo and hostile environment harassment and emphasizes that both types of harassment are illegal. The manual presents a checklist for preparing a training session, possible session agendas, outlines and instructions for each segment of the training, training exercises, and copies of participant materials and overheads.
