The volume is intended both for practicing and trainee forensic mental health professions and for policy makers, probation officers, researchers, attorneys, and managers of both secure and outpatient settings. The papers were presented at the 1994 Hague Conference of the International Association for Forensic Psychotherapy by professionals from Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, United Kingdom, and the United States. Individual papers examine paradigms and practice in forensic psychotherapy; treatment issues, including case management institutional management, the factors that make an individual suitable for treatment, and issues related to offenders with personality disorders; and the role of treatment in the criminal justice system. The final three papers examine victim issues, including victim treatment, therapists' attitudes toward victims, and the treatment of offenders who themselves have been victims. Index and 86 references
