This article presents opinions on the issue of gun control and its relationship--if any--to violent crime.
Abstract
Recent high-profile murders around the country involving teens have spurred renewed interest in the controversial issue of gun control. The topic includes opinions on so-called "junk guns," assault weapons, right-to-carry laws, legislation, and the Second Amendment. The article uses a round-table discussion format to elicit information and views on the subject from law enforcement agencies, the National Rifle Association, Centers for Disease Control, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the American Civil Liberties Union.
