The book, designed for girls age 10 and older, defines sexual abuse and describes ways to find help. It also discusses feelings experienced by many victims of sexual abuse: confusion, fear, shame and guilt, sadness and anger. It emphasizes the importance of telling someone about the abuse, and how important it is to keep telling until someone stops the abuse; the victim probably cannot stop it herself. Additional information for the sexual abuse victim concerns separating herself from the abuse; relationships after the abuse; things to do to rebuild self esteem; body image and feeling good about her sexuality; what to do when family cannot or will not help; and social services and therapy. A section concerning what is needed to heal includes discussion of personal power and safety skills, what constitutes a safe place, motivation, and helpful things to do. Bibliography
