This report summarizes the research projects planned by the Research and Statistics Unit of the Department of Corrective Services in New South Wales, Australia.
Abstract
The report also summarizes the types of corrections statistics that are continuously maintained by the agency, the information requests processed by the agency, projects completed in 1996-97, publications through June 1996, the agency's technical assistance services, and other activities. The research program consists of 36 projects in 8 categories: (1) criminal justice system; (2) national/State data collections; (3) prison populations; (4) prisons, staff, and inmates; (5) programs and services for inmates; (6) community corrections; (7) corrective services and society; and (8) miscellaneous projects.
