National Library Week

Started in 1958, National Library Week is a nationwide observance celebrated by all types of libraries - including the NCJRS Virtual Library.   Annotation: Caseload statistics for Nebraska courts are tabulated in this annual report for 1998.
Abstract: Statistics are provided for the Nebraska's Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, district courts, county courts, and juvenile courts. Cases disposed of in the Supreme Court totaled 309 in 1998, a slight increase from the 304 cases disposed of in 1997. Cases disposed of in the Court of Appeals totaled 1,146 in 1998, an increase over the 1,111 total in 1997. Cases filed in district courts and county courts in 1998 totaled 38,330 and 376,285, respectively. The number of filings in juvenile courts totaled 4,992 in 1998, and filings steadily increased over the 10-year period between 1989 and 1998.
