This bibliography contains 818 listings of books, pamphlets, government documents, dissertations, articles within books, and periodical articles on race, ethnicity, and the criminal justice system in the United States.
Abstract
The bibliography is divided into three main subject areas. Section 1, "Race, Ethnicity and the Criminal Justice System," is subdivided into the following sections: general, the courts, sentencing, the death penalty, imprisonment, police in the minority community, African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans and criminal justice, minority women, and minority youth. Section 2, "Race, Ethnicity, Inequality and Crime," is subdivided into the following sections: general, African Americans, Latinos, Asian Americans, Native Americans, minority women, minority youth, and ethnic gangs. Section 3, "Resources," is divided into three sections: statistics, bibliographies, and web sites. The entries are divided by format into books, pamphlets, government documents, dissertations, and theses, as well as articles in periodicals and books. The entries are arranged alphabetically by author or title (in the case of a corporate author). The sources selected for inclusion in the bibliography are from the social, political, feminist, and multicultural literature. Works from alternative publishers, the small presses, the feminist presses, and activist organizations are included.
