The practitioner's guide covers a broad range of community-based prevention strategies and approaches. The guide discusses the extent of the problem of youth tobacco use in the United States and provides general recommendations on how practitioners can have the greatest impact. It examines the effectiveness of economic interventions, counteradvertising, retailer-directed interventions, multicomponent school-linked community approaches, tobacco-free environment policies and advertising and promotion restriction interventions.
