Customs and Excise and by the police by drug type and year; and the seizures of controlled drugs by various organizations by drug type and amount seized. The drug offender tables describe the drug offenders by age, sex, and action taken; the characteristics of male and female drug offenders; and the drug offenders receiving different types of sentences. They also focus on the characteristics of drug offenders involved in specific types of drugs and the numbers of drug offenders in correctional institutions in England and Wales on June 30, 1996 and June 30, 1997.
