This resource guide provides resources, referrals, and information intended to prevent and combat the abuse of methamphetamines (meth).
Abstract
The guide lists 12 sources for prevention materials for meth. The sources include booklets, brochures, videos, and fact sheets. Content, year of publication, length, target audience, cost, and sales source are indicated for each resource. Abstracts of 33 studies, articles, and reports on meth are also provided. These materials focus on such topics as the characteristics and lifestyles of meth users by gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation; the nature of meth abuse and addiction, along with its prevalence; the dangers of meth effects; and the relationship between meth use and HIV/AIDS. Other studies, articles, and reports focus on crime/law enforcement issues relevant to meth abuse and dangers, as well as treatment strategies for meth abusers. Publication date, length, and sales information are provided for each of the 33 documents. Names, addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, Web site addresses, and e-mail addresses are provided for 31 national organizations that focus on substance abuse prevention.
