This publication explains the services and resources of the Juvenile Justice Clearinghouse (JJC) of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and suggests ways in which users can take advantage of JJC.
Abstract
The JJC provides individuals and organizations with ready access to a comprehensive collection of information and resources on juvenile justice topics. The JJC staff answer questions over the phone or via e-mail, mail publications or videotapes, perform customized literature searches, and provide other services. Users can also join OJJDP’s mailing list, subscribe to a free e-mail service, access more than 300 OJJDP publications, and contribute to the NCJRS library and abstracts database. Other possibilities include using OJJDP’s web site, connect with colleagues, connecting with colleagues, joining the Criminal Justice Editors’ Group. JJC annually answers more than 70,000 requests for information, distributes more than 5 million OJJDP publications annually, maintains a document collection, supports OJJDP’s web site, and attends and supports more than 200 conferences each year.
