This compilation of materials constitutes a resource guide to videotapes and materials available from the Office for Victims of Crime Resource Center (OVCRC) on child victims of and witnesses to violence.
Abstract
The compilation includes discussion guides that deal with facts about children and violence, effects of violence, innovative practices for law enforcement and in the courtroom to meet the needs of child victims and witnesses, promising partnerships to improve case outcomes, and prosecution. Findings of a national survey of violence involving juvenile perpetrators and victims are presented, and criminal justice resources available to children who are exposed to violence are examined. Recommendations to improve the criminal justice response to child victims and witnesses are offered that are organized according to all criminal justice professionals, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and criminal court judges and administrators. The compilation also lists videotapes and resources guides available from the OVCRC and includes ordering information. References, tables, and figures
