Abstract
The guide describes how child protection cases are handled by the State and the roles played by various individuals, agencies, and courts. In addition, the guide presents a general overview of the law and defines technical terms so that people who need to understand the child protection system can follow the events in a particular case. The guide has seven sections: child protection laws and responsible agencies, stages in the child protection process, case illustration, charts and statistics, legal terms, resources, and index.
