Abstract
Forensic DNA analysis has played a crucial role in the investigation and resolution of thousands of violent crimes since the late 1980's. The evolution of DNA testing has provided the criminal justice community with a powerful and widely accepted tool. Additional research and development could provide faster, less costly, and more reliable forensic evidence. This solicitation focuses on projects and innovations which can be completed in a 1- to 5-year framework. Information on obtaining the necessary application is included.
