This bibliography of 32 articles, monographs, and books provides some of the most influential writings in the field of community justice.
Abstract
The publications in this listing offer an introduction to the field, as well as real-life lessons from the field for planners. They also provide a grounding in philosophical principles for policymakers and academics. The bibliography does not intend to be exhaustive, but is rather a starting point for those interested in exploring topics of community justice. The publications are grouped under various topics related to community justice. Ten publications provide background material on the characteristics and goals of community justice, followed by three listings that discuss the impact and significance of community disorder on residents' attitudes and perceptions concerning their neighborhoods. One publication discusses restorative justice, and five address community policing. Community courts are explored in another five publications. Community-focused juvenile justice is considered in one listing. Two publications focus on community prosecution, followed by another two that deal with community-focused probation and parole. The last section of the bibliography contains three readings on broad community initiatives.
