This document presents the agenda and work plan for the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice of the United Nations Economic and Social Council to be presented at the Commission’s session held in April 2000.
Abstract
The report notes that the ongoing work by the Center for International Crime Prevention will contribute to the development of an international strategy against corruption. The Center’s work will also focus on violence against women, the use and application of United Nations standards and norms, and cooperation with United Nations entities and other organizations. Areas addressed in the Commission’s work also include an international convention against transnational organized crime, the recommendations of the 10th United Nations Congress on the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders, and strategic management and program questions.
