More organizations at the Federal, State, and local levels are launching initiatives related to youth leadership and development; this directory lists organizations specifically concerned with Native American youth.
Abstract
The directory is divided into four sections. The first section, on youth-related issues, focuses on private, non-profit resources supporting youth development programs, crisis hotlines and counseling services, clearinghouse resources, education and job training, and health promotion and disease prevention. The second section, on Federal resources, contains contact information for Federal Government programs serving young people. The third section on national Native American organizations, lists nationally focused organizations whose mission is to improve the lives of Native Americans and their communities. The fourth section, on funding sources for Native American activities, includes a brief list of private family foundations that have supported the activities of Native American organizations. For each organization listed in the directory, information provided includes address, telephone number, web site, and brief description of the organization.
