This is a Report of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Elaboration of a Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime on its Seventh Session, January 2000.
Abstract
Representatives of 109 States attended the seventh session of the Ad Hoc Committee. Also attending were observers for organizations of the United Nations system, institutes of the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme network, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations. The report describes procedural and organizational matters and then lists the following substantive activities: (1) discussion on the revised draft United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime; (2) discussion on the implementation of General Assembly resolution "Action against corruption"; (3) discussion on the additional international legal instrument against illicit manufacturing of and trafficking in firearms, their parts and components and ammunition; (4) informal consultations; and (5) adoption of the report of the Ad Hoc Committee on its seventh session.
