This book describes drug laws in New South Wales in three parts: substantive offenses, evidence and procedure, and sentencing.
Abstract
The first part on substantive offenses covers the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act of 1985, conspiracy, Commonwealth drug offenses, and the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act of 1966. The second part on evidence and procedure deals with entrapment, hearsay admissions, search and seizure, investigation, drug identification from seizure to evidence, bail, and confiscation of criminal assets. The third part on sentencing is concerned with comparative sentences, sentencing factors, fact-finding by the sentencing judge, drug addiction as a mitigating factor in sentencing, drug offenses and foreign nationals, assets forfeiture, and entrapment.
