Four myths are debunked by the author: (1) Sex offenses committed by females are rare; (2) Female sex offenders rarely have male victims; (3) If men and women are put into separate groups, treatment professionals will not have to worry about relationships developing; and (4) Women mature faster than men. The author examines what he describes as truths, specifically that men and women are different, that respect and responsibility can and should be taught the same to males and females, that society discriminates against women, and that all treatment programs for sex offenders are in the process of evolving.
