Abstract
The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice recommended three draft resolutions, by which the General Assembly would: (1) endorse the Vienna Declaration on Crime and Justice; (2) request the Secretary General to prepare draft plans of action to implement the Vienna Declaration; and (3) request the Secretary General to initiate and develop an effective international legal instrument against corruption and establish an ad hoc committee for its negotiation. The Commission also recommended a resolution by which the Economic and Social Council would request the Secretary General to seek comments on the desirability and means of establishing common principles on the use of restorative justice programs; to convene a meeting of experts to review the comments received; and to examine proposals for further action. A second resolution would request the Secretary General to prepare a report on basic principles of justice for victims of crime and abuse of power. Notes, appendixes
