The book contains four chapters, the first of which addresses whether domestic violence is a serious problem, female violence against men, and domestic violence against gays. The second chapter considers factors that contribute to domestic violence, including alcohol abuse, patriarchal customs, and the sports culture. The third chapter looks at whether legal remedies against domestic violence are effective, with emphasis on the Violence Against Women Act, mandatory arrest laws, and restraining orders.
