Abstract
The combination of new initiatives and baseline adjustments for the justice sector totals $550 million across 4 years. Added funding will strengthen victim education, court services for victims, and education and assistance to juvenile victims and juvenile witnesses. Funding to address burglary will enhance police intelligence capabilities and provide target hardening by assisting burglary victims with basic security precautions. The youth justice package includes prevention and early intervention programs for children at risk, a residential program for youth with severe conduct disorders, expanded police programs for at-risk youth, and health and education initiatives. Restorative justice initiatives will include pilot programs for more serious offenders and added community-managed restorative justice programs. Other funding focuses on police, court, and corrections programs. Figures
