Additional topics included prison internal classification systems to match inmates to housing units, work assignments, and programming; an automated process for assessing risks and needs; a personality-based model for classifying inmates; and the management of high-risk offenders. Further topics included litigation focusing on classification issues, changes in classification-related tasks and other areas as a result of litigation, the classification of female offenders, the linking of prison classification to reentry in the community, and classification-related initiatives supported by the National Institute of Corrections and the Institute of Crime, Justice, and Corrections.
