Relationship abuse is one of the leading causes of injury to women taking a toll on an entire family. This woman’s handbook offers women a practical guide in understanding, identifying, and discussing relationship abuse; a first step in stopping relationship violence. The handbook consists of seven sections that include: (1) a definition and warning signs of relationship abuse; (2) breaking the wall of isolation by talking to a friend who is being abused; (3) recognizing signs of teen abuse and violence; (4) the effects of abuse on families; (5) the spillover of abuse into the workplace; (6) developing a safety plan when leaving an abusive relationship; and (7) a resource guide for women in abusive relationships.
