The second section provides information and guidelines regarding the usage of words with similar spellings, including affect and effect, deposition and disposition, and whose and who’s. The third section focuses on correcting fragments, run-ons, and misplaced phrases. The fourth section provides practice in distinguishing statements written in the active and passive voice and exercises to analyze correct grammar usage when balancing subjects and verbs. The fifth section includes spelling exercises and a list of the most commonly misspelled words in law enforcement and corrections. The sixth section focuses on punctuation and understanding of commas, semicolons, colons, apostrophes, and quotation marks.
