Abstract
Each case has the basic elements taken from actual records and is presented in the format currently in use throughout most probation, parole, and corrections agencies in the United States. Wherever possible the style of the officer writing the report has been retained. Crimes are dealt with only in their generic identity. Specific degrees of crimes have been omitted deliberately. Only the most frequently seen felonies are dealt with. Discretionary release from prison operates within a framework of adjudicated guilt. Chapter 1 describes six cases involving murder, multiple felony offense, violent felony offender, attempted murder, and murder by a juvenile offender. Chapter 2 deals with robbery, attempted robbery, burglary, and violation of parole. Chapter 3 presents cases involving manslaughter, sexual assault, and vehicular assault. Chapter 4 deals with sex crimes such as rape, sodomy, and sexual abuse. Chapter 5 focuses on a kidnapping case. Chapter 6 presents three assault cases. Chapter 7 deals with weapons offenses such as criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon, and robbery by a youthful offender. Chapter 8 presents an arson case. Chapter 9 deals with possession of stolen property and larceny. Chapter 10 focuses on burglary. Chapter 11 presents a case on bribery. Chapter 12 deals with falsifying business records. Chapter 13 focuses on coercion while Chapter 14 deals with conspiracy. Chapter 15 presents six cases involving drugs. Chapter 16 focuses on juvenile crime and additional cases involving criminal sale of controlled substances. Index
