Abstract
Over 100 high school youth leaders from across the United States were profiled from the 1997 National Youth Summit to Prevent Underage Drinking. Up to two students per State were profiled with individual information covering: State delegation district, name, age, and high school attended. In addition, a brief biography explaining their reasoning, and sometimes their personal experiences, for wanting to learn more effective ways to reach teens and lower the drinking rate and their hopes and dreams of getting their communities aware and involved in the fight against underage drinking. All youth leaders profiled provided information on school and community organizations, both in and outside school, that they were actively involved in, such as SADD, Teen-Alcoholics Anonymous, Student Body Council, Future Business Leaders of America, Boy’s Federation, MADD’s TeamSpirit, Vocational Industrial Clubs of America, and Get MADD for Kids.
