This article discusses the juvenile justice system in Switzerland.
Abstract
The legal frame of the juvenile justice system remained very stable during the second half of the 20th century. The juvenile justice system is not questioned or disputed despite the evolution of its target populations and types of delinquent behaviors. There is great flexibility of action and authority. There are two current reforms taking place. The first is that of the criminal law concerning juvenile offenders, which is going to extend the length of imprisonment and allow joint sentencing to both punishment and educational measures. The second reform is in procedural law. The welcome unification in the rules of the juvenile justice system, which is strongly localized, will be initiated. 2 tables, 14 footnotes, 10 references
