Abstract
Information on the circuit courts includes a map of the judicial circuits in Illinois, a directory of the circuit clerks, and a graphical presentation of 5-year trends for total caseload and selected case categories. Statistics cover caseload summaries by circuit; the case filing ratio (judge/population); civil caseloads by county; criminal, traffic, conservation, and ordinance caseload by county; juvenile caseload by county; age of pending cases by case category; law case disposition by circuit and county; time lapse (case filing to date of verdict); felony dispositions and sentences by county; disbursement by circuit clerks and cost of operating clerks' offices; and circuit clerk disbursement of funds by county. Information and data from the circuit courts are also provided on adult and juvenile probation, including 5-year trends. The section on appellate courts includes a map of appellate and the Illinois Supreme Court judicial districts and a directory of appellate clerks, along with a graphical presentation of 5-year trends for total caseload and caseload by district. Statistical data show caseload summary by district, case dispositions by district, method of case disposition, time lapse (case filing to disposition and brief filing to disposition), and opinions and Rule 23 orders. Data on the Illinois Supreme Court encompass both 5-year trends and 2001 data. The statistics address case filings and dispositions. Extensive tables and figures
