As the number of incarcerated offenders in the United States grows, so too grows the number of offenders released to parole supervision. As such, BJS has compiled data regarding trends useful to correctional administrators, parole officers, policymakers, and academics. The site contains statistical analyses of the growth in State prison and parole populations; the number of releases, method of release, most serious offense, and time served; entries to State parole supervision; recidivism and success rates for State parolees; rearrest and reconviction statistics; characteristics of released inmates; and Federal supervised release data.
