Abstract
The Government of Mexico will host the conference in Merida, Mexico, on December 9-11, 2003. Organizational issues discussed in this provisional agenda are the election of the President of the Conference, the election of other officers, the rules of procedure, the adoption of the agenda and organization of work, and the credentials of representatives to the conference. One section of the agenda describes follow-up activities and future work for the effective implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption. This involves an invitation for the high-level representatives to include in their statements proposals for follow-up activities and future work, with attention to requirements and plans for the expeditious ratification of the Convention. Procedures are described for the placing of signatures to the Convention and for the adoption of the report of the conference. Information for the conference participants explains the reason for the conference and its date and venue. Information on the National Organizing Committee is provided, and details are supplied for the opening of the conference and seating arrangements. Information is also provided on the organization of work at the conference, side events, participation, registration procedures, official languages and documentation, information and the media, visa requirements, customs facilities, welcome arrangements, hotel reservations, and services.
