Abstract
Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc. seeks to help abused children by supporting children’s advocacy centers in using a multi-disciplinary team approach to meet the needs of abused children and their families. The Centers work in partnership with local communities and agencies investigating and prosecuting child abuse. Following letters of introduction, the first section offers a roster of member Children’s Advocacy Centers that includes their name, mailing address, and phone and fax numbers, as well as the date they were implemented. The bulk of the directory presents member Center profiles, alphabetically. The profiles include the name of the Executive Director; general information, such as community characteristics and ages of children served; case criteria; interagency partners; interagency partners providing funding; interagency partners and number of staff housed at Center; program components and services, such as forensic interviewing and domestic violence family advocacy; any additional services provided such as mental health screenings; facility information, such as square footage; staff positions and time staffed; additional funding sources; annual budget; and mission statement. The final sections of the directory provide information on full and provisional membership with the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc.; a listing of counties served by the Centers and Center demographics; the Texas Family Code legislation, Chapter 264; the standards for Children’s Advocacy Centers; and a listing of toll-free phone numbers for related services. The back cover offers a map depicting the location of member Children’s Advocacy Centers, Centers serving multiple counties, counties being served by a Center from another county, and satellite Centers.
