Abstract
Produced by the Montgomery County, MD, Department of Health and Human Services with collaboration from the County Executive's Task Force Against Violence, other County agencies, and the Family Law Section of the Bar Association of Montgomery County, this victim services guidebook describes many of the legal protections and available resources and services available for victims of domestic violence, child and adult sexual assault, general crime, abuse and neglect of children and adults, child support, visitation and custody issues relating to family jurisprudence. In addition, it examines ways in which the legal system can assist victims and on the services provided by those involved in family issues, particularly by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services. Resources and services are provided under the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, the Montgomery County Court System, Montgomery County Law Enforcement offices, prosecutorial, legal and corrections offices, and Maryland statewide victim advocacy resources.
