This report presents Idaho's Uniform Crime Reporting data for 2003 supplied by Idaho's local and State law enforcement agencies.
Abstract
Data on crimes against persons encompass murder, forcible sex offenses, aggravated assault, simple assault, intimidation, kidnapping/abduction, and nonforcible sex offenses. Crimes against property include robbery, burglary, larceny/theft offenses, motor vehicle theft, arson, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, counterfeiting/forgery, fraud offenses, embezzlement, and stolen-property offenses. "Crimes against society" involve drug/narcotic violations, drug equipment violations and gambling offenses, pornography and prostitution offenses, and weapon law violations. Arrest totals and trends are presented and then reported separately for adults and juveniles. Data are also provided for hate crimes and assaults on law enforcement officers. Data are presented by reporting agency and county. Law enforcement employee information is included as well. There were a total of 94,875 index offenses, a 2.8-percent increase from 2002. There were 3,339 violent crimes known to police, a 2.3-percent decrease from 2002, and 20,899 reported crimes against persons, a 2.9-percent increase from 2002.
