The Naval Postgraduate School offers a master's degree program in homeland security in partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Office for Domestic Preparedness. The program is open to local, State, and Federal government officials who are in or aspire to leadership roles in homeland security. San Diego State University also has a master's program in homeland security. This is an interdisciplinary, residential program. The School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University offers an online certificate program in homeland security that includes three courses. The homeland security program at the University of Tennessee's Law Enforcement Innovation Center is more of a traditional law enforcement training program that includes short courses on homeland security topics. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) offers undergraduate and graduate scholarships to students in the physical, biological, social, and behavioral sciences in exchange for the agreement to accept employment with DHS or a related government agency after graduation. Johns Hopkins University has a part-time engineering school that offers a number of homeland-security courses for students wishing to start or continue their educations in this area; and Drexel University offers 51 6-hour seminars in various homeland security topics that can be taken at the school or delivered onsite. The National Graduate School's curriculum targets mainly military and other Federal professionals who seek education in quality systems management; a certificate program in homeland security is offered. The University of Denver offers a seven-course certificate program in homeland security for students already having a bachelor's degree.
