The National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association is a national organization of 954 local and State member CASA/GAL programs and satellite offices across the country and headquartered in Seattle, WA. CASA functions as a resource to support and increase the capacities of local programs to serve more abused children. CASA provides local program staff with training and assistance in areas such as, program development, volunteer recruitment and training, program best practices, quality assurance, resource development, and grant writing. In addition, CASA provides local and State programs with grant funds to promote both program quality and growth to meet the needs of abused children. In 2004, over 192,000 abused and neglected children received a volunteer court appointed special advocate, CASA. This report provides an overview of program activities and initiatives, as well as a financial overview of the National CASA Association for the year of 2004.
