Resolutions adopted were the Bangkok Declaration on Synergies and Responses: Strategic Alliances in Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, and the credentials of representatives to the Congress. Information on the background and preparations for the Congress pertains to United Nations authorization for the Congress, regional preparatory meetings, and the hosting of the Congress. The section on attendance and organization of work lists the countries with representatives at the Congress and outlines how the work of the Congress was organized. The high-level segment of the Congress involved statements by 88 high-level officials, who are listed in this report. General discussions at the high-level segment are summarized, and treaty actions at the special treaty event are listed. Consideration of agenda items in plenary meetings and by sessional bodies as well as actions by the Congress pertained to effective measures to combat transnational organized crime, international cooperation against terrorism and links between terrorism and other criminal activities in the context of the work of the U.N.'s Office on Drugs and Crime, corruption threats and trends in the 21st century, economic and financial crimes, and making standards work in crime prevention and criminal justice. The six workshops addressed the enhancement of international law enforcement cooperation, the enhancement of criminal justice reform, strategies and best practices for crime prevention, measures to combat terrorism, measures to combat economic crime, and measures to combat computer-related crime.
