While the Internet offers many exciting opportunities for knowledge, there are also opportunities for harm. Teenagers represent one of the most vulnerable populations on the Internet for many reasons, including a lack of parental supervision and the growing technical savvy of the Nation’s youth. This brochure presents a wealth of information about the Internet, including how to get into cyberspace, as well as the dangers of the Internet and how to avoid them. The target audience is teenagers, but parents and other adults can also benefit from the information. General risks of the Internet are described, such as the problems of personal harassment or schemes designed to gain access to the Internet users’ financial information.
