The report has separate sections for adult male arrestees, adult female arrestees, and juvenile detainees, due to differences in how the respective data are collected. The first page of the adult male and female site reports presents data on the number of booking facilities in which data were collected and the number of facilities in the county. Also presented are the sample size and the number of bookings (male reports) recorded in the sampled facilities for all data-collection periods in 2002. Tables on page one display the age of male/female booked arrestees and their race, percentage who tested positive for drugs, and the percentage who tested positive by offense category. The second page of the adult male and female site reports provides additional descriptive statistics on the sample, including education, current housing, current employment status, current health insurance, self-reported use of five primary drugs over the past 12 months, the frequency of use of these drugs, self-reported arrests in the past year, and the percentage who injected drugs in the past year. Page three of the report on male and female adult arrestees presents data on past treatment experience and the need for treatment, i.e., risk for drug dependence and abuse. The fourth and final page contains data only on respondents who reported obtaining a drug in the past 30 days; this does not necessarily mean they used the drug. The format of the juvenile site reports is standardized across sites, with one page per site of tables and charts that display characteristics of juvenile detainees and trends in their drug-using behavior. Juvenile tables parallel the adult tables.
