This report describes an educational CD-ROM on methamphetamine entitled, Meth=Death, and presents a textbox on methamphetamine facts.
Abstract

Meth=Death was produced by the Putnam County, TN, Health Department, the 13th Judicial District Drug Task Force, and Tennessee Tech University’s Business Media Center. The CD-ROM uses video and graphics within an interactive format to educate a variety of target audiences about the devastating effects of methamphetamine abuse, including police, fire, and medical services; hospitals; child services; educators; and public workers. The CD contains video clips and games for young children. The educational program is applicable to any environment, although some information is specific to Tennessee. Putnam County has filled orders for Meth=Death from Canada, Australia, and the Netherlands. The CD-ROM is being distributed by the Rural Law Enforcement Technology Center (RULETC) at no cost. A textbox presents facts about methamphetamine abuse, such as the heightened risk of acute lead poisoning, psychosis, hyperthermia, and convulsions. Contact information for the CD-ROM is provided.
