Results from the pre- and posttest measures suggest that participants in the Youth Crime Reduction Video Project showed an immediate short-term positive change in measures of self-esteem and attitudes relating to crime, the police, school and education. However, followup 6 months later indicated that only the enhanced self-esteem was sustained over time. This article discusses findings from a pilot intervention, the Youth Crime Reduction Video Project, which attempted to target at-risk youth in a project which aimed to focus on improving attitudes towards crime and the police, to reduce school exclusion, and to develop self-esteem and self-worth. The evaluation identified the extent to which the project had been successful and informing future development of the project. The article highlights the intervention aims and content, the findings of the evaluation, and the implications for future crime prevention or early intervention programs. Table, references
