This CD contains volumes 1 and 2 of instructor PowerPoint presentations designed to instruct participants on 15 issues pertinent to the development of community crime prevention programs.
Abstract
The material is intended for use by crime-prevention practitioners/instructors who bring their own experience and expertise to each topic. Each presentation is intended to educate, increase awareness, and teach prevention strategies for the issue being addressed. Slide presentations are provided, and instructors are encouraged to print and distribute copies of the slide presentations. For most presentations, instructors are provided trainer notes. PowerPoint presentations in the first volume are entitled: Crime and Prevention Trends 2006; Crime Prevention and Community Preparedness; Identity Theft and Strategies for Crime Prevention; Improving Police-Community Relations Through Community Policing; Neighborhood Watch; and Seniors and Crime Prevention. Presentations in the second volume are entitled: Bullying: What's New and What to Do; Identifying and Addressing a Gang Problem; How to Partner Effectively With Faith-based Organizations; Crime Prevention History and Theory; Keeping the Elderly Safe in the 21st Century; Methamphetamine Abuse and Clandestine Laboratories; School Safety and Security; Smart and Safe in Cyberspace: Social Networking 101; and Teaching Kids to Help Design Out Crime.
