This document presents information for participants in the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, which was held December 10-14, 2006, for the purposes of improving the capacity of and cooperation among parties to the Convention in achieving the Convention's objectives, as well as promoting and reviewing its implementation.
Abstract
Background information is provided on the Convention and the establishment and mission of the Conference of the States Parties to the Convention. Information is then presented on the date and venue for the Conference. The composition of the host government's (Jordan) National Organizing Committee is then listed followed by a brief description of its work. Information is provided on where the provisional agenda and proposed organization of work for the first session can be found, and "side events" for the Conference are listed. Eligibility criteria for participation in the Conference are listed, along with information that should be included in registration material. Other information provided addresses languages and documentation; the submission of papers; the media; visas, travel, and hotel reservations; facilities at the convention center; information about Jordan; and the program of social activities.
