The leaflet outlines the examples of what services can be provided to victims of overseas crimes. General information for victims of any crime include: the Embassies will provide a replacement passport; information on transferring money; contacting family and friends, finding appropriate help for rape or serious assault victims, provide details about lawyers, interpreters, doctors, and funeral directors; and information on police, legal systems and additional information. The leaflet also discusses in detail the numerous things that the Embassies cannot do for travelers these include: the Embassies can not get you out of prison, prevent the local authorities from deporting you, or interfere in criminal or civil court proceedings; give you legal advise, investigate crimes or missing people, get one better treatment in hospital or prison than is given to local people; or pay any bills or give money.
