The next step in the self-assessment is an inventory of existing information technology software, including security software and software licensing for information sharing. The third step in the self-assessment process is an assessment of networking resources, including the agency's objectives for networking. Other steps in the self-assessment focus on Internet usage, the status of an agency Web site, staff capabilities, disaster-recovery capabilities and policies, existing building characteristics, and long-term goals for the tribal justice information sharing system.
