Information pertains to personal characteristics, family background, housing, addiction patterns, and criminal history. A total of 1,398 sentenced persons were admitted to the compulsory program in 2006, an 18-percent decrease from 2005. The number of males (1,203) and females (195) admitted for treatment decreased by 19 percent and 4 percent, respectively, compared with 2005. The proportion of young offenders to total admissions continued to decrease from a peak of 28 percent in 1995 to 4 percent in 2006, which was the same as 2005. Data on personal attributes of those admitted to the DATC addresse age at admission, place of birth, educational attainment, and employment status and occupation at admission. Data on families address marital status and living arrangement. Housing data cover district of residence and type of accommodation. Addiction details focus on age at first use of drugs, self-reported cause and peer associations at first drug use, type of drugs abused, daily cost of drugs, method of taking drugs, procurement of drugs by district, and length of addiction.
