Confidence is echoed in the sentiment from researchers for increased research funding in the area of VAW. Yet, because of the complex nature of the subject, research challenges will be unavoidable. However, some of the other challenges faced by researchers could be lessened by implementing some suggestions made in the thought-provoking article, “Advancing the Study of Violence Against Women: Evolving Research Agendas into Science” by Carol Jordan. One of these suggestions is to conduct research on VAW within transdiciplinary research teams composed of theoretical, applied, and clinical scientists, and housing these teams in academically-based research centers of productive collaborations. In addition, Jordan’s perspective that violence against women research should be translational in nature, using research findings to inform practice and policy is strongly endorsed. References
