France's Annual Crime Bulletins for 2007 and 2008 present data on crime recorded by police services and gendarmerie units. These reports contain data on property crimes, violent crimes, and fraud and other financial crimes known to police and gendarmerie units throughout the country. Another report presents the findings of a 2006 nationwide victimization survey on household reports of victimization for both serious and minor property and violent offenses. Data on victim reports of these offenses, many of which were not reported to police, are compared with police statistics (when available) for similar offenses for the same period. Separate crime studies present data on types of offenses not included in the annual crime reports of police agencies. One of these studies characterizes 1,600 cases of willful "relationship violence, job-related violence, and violence in everyday situations" in Paris between March 2006 and May 2006. Another study reports on cases of "willful bodily harm against adult women by partners or ex-partners" recorded by police and gendarmerie in 2007. A report on "Street Violence in Paris" was submitted in the map competition at the Tenth International Crime Mapping Conference in New Orleans. It supplied the Paris police forces with an analysis of the geographic distribution of criminal violence committed on public streets in Paris in 2008, so as to aid police in their geographic targeting of interventions.
